Last moths have been full of trips to our favorite destinations, Portugal and France. A lot of beautiful (unridden) waves and mind blowing beautiful bays to be found in both countries. Last year Blue juice surf and water works decided to partner up, resulting in working together in beautiful Bretagne. Mike, owner of Blue Juice surf, is a star in organizing a classical surf week with great surf coaching (both from the water as by video analysis), lovely traditional wining and dining and great company. Water works was there to make the footage...and ofcourse to catch waves ourselves ;-) Have a look!
On 13 March artist Laura van der Plas of waterworks.earth and the crew of Casa Bocage had their first food, music & expo event together. Isabel Saraiva shined with singing several Portugese songs and the people were happy :) Please find a small photo impression below by Kai Cerveny. Don't miss the next event and keep an eye on the agenda! Also some of the prints are still hanging at the shop, so go and have a look!
What sparked your first ever interest in photography? My mother loved to make photos when she was younger. Like most parents she also made a lot of pictures of my childhood. When I got a little older it was so nice to look back at these. She really captured life’s moments and through her photos she was able to show me what these moments meant to her. Some 15 years ago I started to develop the same interest for photography. Quite by accident I ran into an analogue water camera on a flea market and from then on I just started shooting.

The situation surrounding the corona virus and the planned retreats remains uncertain. Due to this uncertainty, we regret that the organization is forced to cancel all our 2020 retreats. In order to continue to offer the retreats in the future, we hope to be able to reschedule them in the spring and autumn of 2021.Team Radiant Seasouls.
A poem from poet 'Een dichter bij zee', dedicated to the ones left behind after the loss of the 5 young men in the Northsea last week.

I have been fascinated by Indians since a young age. Their vision that everything that moves has a soul, whether it is concerns animals, plants or water, and that everything is connected, it touches me. I think the latest book by Serv Wiemers about the original inhabitants of America is super written, very inspiring and actually a must read for everyone! It is about the resilience of the Indians and their message to live in balance with nature and the environment.
Our yearly trip to the Canaries brought us this January to the QUEMAO CLASS contest, a two days surf and bodyboard contest on the east coast of Lanzarote. We took the boot from Fuerteventura, drove through the amazing moon-like landscape of the ' Los Volcanes natural park' and arrived at La Santa. They call La Santa “a magical place where the fishing and surfing tradition coexist, creating a constant synergy in one of the best waves in Europe”. Nothing is less true. I have seen this wave now for a couple of times under offshore conditions and it is amazing to see its incredible shape and power and all of that just meters away from the fishermen's boots and tiny harbour. I wonder if the goat has ever surfed it..
Matosinhos, Porto’s main beach, is a lovely surf spot. It offers waves almost all year long and the quality of the waves is good. Since the announcement of the 300-meter extension of the breakwall of the Port of Leixões, the surf spot is in danger. What is going on?
In 2018 I did a first photo exposition for friends and family at Ahoi in Zandvoort, also launching my portfolio book 'Water Works'! Great vibes :) Sea the pictures for a small impression.
